SW AGM Report back to members (06 Jan 22)
New blood on committee as annual meeting signs off healthy balance sheet
Members have met to review the last year’s activities and elect officers for the coming 12 months at the club’s annual general meeting (Tuesday 4 January 2022).
The club’s financial accounts were approved, showing that we remain in a strong and healthy situation. Membership fees will remain at their current levels for yet another year, as there are several thousand pounds in the club’s coffers. (The committee separately took a recent decision to invest £1,500 during 2022 into membership activities and services, and a sub-group is currently looking to recommend specifics on this; details to follow in due course.) The meeting also approved a recommendation from the committee to make several amendments to the competitive side of club activities, to promote equality and inclusivity for prize-giving.
Other matters discussed included more encouragement to fit lights during autumn and winter months, ensuring that Sunday rides conform to the expected average speeds advertised, and an initial look at the findings of a members’ survey undertaken during December (more details to follow soon on those results).
Adrian Evans has stepped up to the role of Vice-Chair, while Helen Fenton, Andy Mobbs and Astrid Pot have all joined the committee. Long-standing member Elaine Kelly has stepped down from the committee, and also as Evening League Secretary, with Andy now moving into the latter role. The meeting whole-heartedly recorded its thanks to Elaine, who will initially assist Andy going forward. The other officers and committee members remain the same, and a full list can be found on the website at https://www.seacroftwheelers.co.uk/contact-us-feedback/
