Do you have experience, knowledge and skills in communications, marketing and events organisation? If so, we need your help.
Seacroft Wheelers Cycling Club is looking for volunteers to help with its communications activities and also social events.
This doesn’t have to be one person, but can be if the relevant skills, knowledge and experience apply. For the former role, experience in writing web articles, news releases and social media activity would be beneficial, to help with the promotion and awareness-raising of the club’s current and planned future activities to both our existing and potential audiences. The latter role would involve organising social events for the club, e.g. a summer B-B-Q, Christmas party and the annual awards night.
A recent club survey revealed that members feel well-informed about activities and events, but as we roll out new aims and objectives throughout the year, we will need to reach out to a new potential audience, for example, to increase overall membership numbers, recruit more young cyclists and promote our competitive activities to the cycling community. We also feel that much more could be done on social media to get our messages out.
Neither of these roles will be too demanding (honest!), although until we roll out our planned activities that will help us meet our aims, we’re unable to put a precise time needed. The communications work is likely to be more often than the social role.
If you, or anyone you know, are able to help out, please contact me or any committee member to discuss further.
